The loss of income, is covered under the classification “temporary total disablement”. The logic of the way it works:
Assumption 1: Your employer will pay you. (at least for a set period of time, based on national sick pay rules).
Assumption 2: When your employer stops paying for your work absence, then you will be covered by Social Welfare.
Assumption 3: When you cannot get payment from Social Welfare, or there is a gap in your normal wages versus the Social Welfare you can get, a claim of up to the value of €375 per week, can be claimed, after a waiting period of 14 days.
Physio is covered for 8 sessions at a value of €50 per session.
